Fort Matanzas National Monument
Fort Matanzas is just about 5 miles north of Sea Colony on the west side of A1A. It's a great outing with kids as you can see a movie about it's history and take a short boat ride across the Matanzas Inlet to the Fort where the kids can explore. There is no charge but they do appreciate donations. There are some great kids activity books about the area in their gift shop. Click here to see their website.

Marineland of Florida
Marineland is just a short 3 miles north of Sea Colony. The park is right on the ocean and was the world's first oceanarium, opening in 1938. You can see the entire park in about a half day. It's a great attraction for the kids as well as adults as it's not overcrowded and the shows allow you to get up close and personal with the animals. They offer snorkeling in the oceanarium as well as swimming with dolphins for an extra fee and for which you need to sign up for in advance. They may be booked several weeks in advance for these special offerings. Click here to see their website.
